Banksia Palliative Care Service

Banksia Palliative Care provides a range of supports and services to individuals and carers including a free 24-hour telephone service to discuss concerns that patients, carers and families may have. The after hours support number is 03 9483 7940.

Support is given via specialist palliative care nurses with expertise in controlling symptoms such as pain as well as trained volunteers who can offer respite in the home. Services also include: Advance Care Planning; Massage Therapy; Music Therapy; Social work; Family and children support; Patient and Carer Support Groups, (children, teenagers and adults); Liaison and referral to other community services, such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and council services, such as home help and meals on wheels; Bereavement Support; Spiritual care support; Counselling; Palliative Care Physician to support complex care in conjunction with your GP.

When contacted by multicultural clients and families, the staff of Banksia ensure professional interpreters are available, when required.
