About this service

Based in North Melbourne, the Peer Network Program seeks to recruit, train and support Peer Networkers to distribute needles and syringes to their friends and associates as well as providing education about safer drug use and ‘modelling’ safer injecting practices. The aim for the is program is to reduce the spread of Hepatitis C and other blood borne viruses like HIV and Hepatitis B. This program has a particular focus on recruiting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and young women injectors, who are under-represented in Need Syringe Programs across Melbourne.
