A service based at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families to ensure they have equitable access to mainstream health care services. It aims to increase cultural awareness and sensitivity of health care services to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. The service provides emotional, social and cultural support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families, ensures they understand medical procedures and routines and can advocate and liaise on their behalf. It also provides a general medical outpatient clinic for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
